why hello there!
I’m so stinkin’ excited you are here!
If you haven’t already figured it out, I’m Katherine!
A small town girl- married to my best friend, Waylen, and a mama to two sweet girlies, Harper & Marlee. I believe a good pair of boots complete any outfit and that even the little moments are worth celebrating.
Most days you can find me soaking in this sweet season with my girlies around the house while squeezing in emails and editing at the kitchen table during nap time. This has been a new season of growth for myself and my business with adding the role of motherhood, but I am so grateful for this little business and the ability to be both a photographer & a mama! I believe with this new season I have gotten to know and celebrate every part of love - from marriage to babies and all of the celebrations in between!
When I’m not working, (if you can even call it that. I love what I do! ) you can most likely find me headed to our family cabin, spending time outside with my little family, catching up with a friend over coffee, or dreaming up our next house project.

The heart behind KZP
I married my brown-eyed handsome man, Waylen in May of 2017. And almost 4 years later to the day we welcomed our sweet & silly daughter, Harper. We recently welcomed another little girl, Marlee to our family in January of 2024. It’s been a dream come true and they are truly the heart and reason behind Katherine Zell Photography!

the great outdoors
We love living the country life and you can often find us soaking in some outdoor adventures. Lately, I’m most excited about our large garden addition and having the space to grow our favorite fruits and veggies. I can’t wait to create memories of working in the garden with my girlies!

Hunting has quickly become a favorite activity in the fall and could compete as my favorite season (aside from wedding season of course!) You can often find me tagging along on the many adventures at our family cabin and most of my favorite memories have happened there.

My Everyday Playlist
Waylen always gives me a hard time about my Spotify playlist! It looks a whole lot like going from Hollow Coves to Turnpike Troubadours to Post Malone and a bit of everything in-between. I love scoping out new music. Maybe it’s the Enneagram 4 in me, but the less well known it is-the better!

The Wild West
We may be far from it, but my heart home and happy place is the out west! There’s just something about those big skies, grassy fields, and panoramic mountain views. I’m always dreaming up when our next trip is!
PS: I’m still looking to shoot a Montana or ranch wedding!

Love Island Anyone?
While I’m not much of a trend follower, I do still indulge in some more “basic” activities - like reading romance or thriller-mystery books, watching every season of Love Island, and checking out the latest coffee shop in town.

Waylen and I have been married for over 6 years now,
but the I still remember the feeling of getting engaged, planning our wedding day (in only 4 months!) and the nervous-excited-can’t believe the day is finally here-feelings of our wedding day. I truly feel SO grateful to be invited into each of your lives, and do not take for granted the honor that that is!
My goal is to document your happiest of moments in a way that is timeless, natural, fun, and unobtrusive. Relationships are super important to me and most of my couples become wonderful friends. Marrying Waylen is one of the biggest highlights of my life, so you can be sure I am going to be your biggest cheerleader and celebrate along side of you as you make the commitment to love and cherish each other for the rest of your lives.
I know for a fact that I am SO very lucky to do what I do, and I will never tire of celebrating alongside of you!
