Y’all, if I’m being honest, this winter has been a bit of a brutal one and the feelings of being uninspired and -gasp- do I even say it?..unmotivated, have been real.
I have been dreaming up a shoot like this one for quite awhile but the timing just never seemed right and I wasn’t sure exactly how large I wanted it to be. Fast forward to the middle of this past week. I was at home and it hit me. I needed to do this shoot. And I needed to do it now. I had all of these ideas whirling around in my head, but I knew I wanted to keep it super simple this time. So I reached out to Scherrie and her horse who are the stunning models, and to the lovely ladies of Blush Bridal, who helped me find the most perfect dress for the shoot. I prayed for a golden hour and knew with there still being a good amount of snow on the ground, that it would create this magical winter wonderland and boy was it magical! I was totally in my happy place! So much so, that I didn’t even feel the whopping +/- 20 degree temps and wind (I am just speaking for myself, poor Scherrie had to be frozen). But this evening was SO good and SO rejuvenating! I truly love what I do, but sometimes I just need a good creative reminder :)
So without further ado, take a look at one of my favorite winter shoots! :)
